Location: Salford (Office Based)
Salary Range: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Reports to: Senior Management
Direct Reports: 2 Finance Team Members

Role Overview
The Finance Manager will play a key role in managing GRF’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with charity finance regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position involves managing and mentoring a small finance team, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and audit processes, and working closely with senior management to support GRF's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Reporting
o Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring adherence to charity-specific financial regulations and accounting standards.
o Provide insights on financial performance to senior management, supporting informed decision-making for ongoing and upcoming projects.
o Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
o Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with program and project teams to develop a cohesive and realistic budget.
o Track budget performance and prepare variance reports, identifying potential financial risks and opportunities for optimization.
3. Team Leadership
o Manage, train, and mentor two finance team members, promoting a positive, high-performance team culture.
o Set objectives and conduct performance reviews for finance staff, encouraging continuous professional growth and skill development.
4. Compliance & Audit
o Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements, including charity accounting standards and donor expectations.
o Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support throughout the audit process.
5. Process Improvement
o Evaluate and improve financial systems and processes to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
o Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard charity assets and reduce financial risks.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
o Collaborate with department heads, project managers, and other key stakeholders to offer financial guidance and insights into funding allocations.
o Support fundraising and grant management activities by preparing financial reports and providing relevant financial data to donors and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (CIMA, ACCA, or similar qualification preferred).
* Proven experience in a finance management role, preferably within the charity or non-profit sector.
* Demonstrated experience in managing finance staff and leading a finance function.
* In-depth knowledge of charity-specific financial regulations and accounting practices.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
