Mott Macdonald Bentley (MMB) is the design and build unit of global engineering consultancy Mott Macdonald. We are currently looking to recruit a Structural Engineer to help support us in delivering work within our United Utilities framework.
MMB are among one of seven partners that will support United Utilities and help deliver £3bn worth of upgrades to critical infrastructure assets including water and wastewater treatment sites, pumping stations and reservoirs within the North West during the AMP8 period.
As a Structural Engineer your responsibilities will include:
1. Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement
2. Designing new structures and/or modifications to existing structures using appropriate design codes and standards
3. Preparing detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports
4. Coordinating with other disciplines (e.g. process, mechanical, electrical) to ensure that structural design is fully integrated into overall project design
5. Participating in design reviews, project meetings, and construction site visits
6. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and drafters
Candidate requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
2. Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership
3. Experience in the water and wastewater industry
4. Knowledge of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. Eurocodes, British Standards)
5. Proficient in structural analysis software (e.g. Staad Pro, ETABS, SAP2000)
6. Knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
