Apprentice
Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer
LOCATION:
Hertfordshire and surrounding areas

Full Time – Monday to Friday – will require flexible approach to
hours and involve working and staying away (all expenses and food and

now looking to expand their team of experienced Service Engineers
and they now have an exciting new opportunity for Apprentice Service
Engineer to join their existing team. This would be a fantastic
opportunity for an engineering / electrical minded individual to
start and build a career with a company who are leaders in their
field. As an Apprentice Service Engineer you will be partnered with
an experienced Medical Service Engineer
Both roles will be home
based and will travel throughout Hertfordshire and surrounding areas,
as well as other parts of the UK and will involve spending time away
from home regularly. In return our client offers a generous salary

meal allowances when staying away.
THE ROLE: As an
Apprentice Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer you will be
responsible for working on a range of medical equipment including
Steam Sterilizers, Instrument Washer Disinfectors, Endoscope Washer
Disinfectors, and on Steam Generation plants.
Key Responsibilities
for the Apprentice Service Engineer / Medical Service Engineer in
Hertfordshire and surrounding areas:

* Be resourceful, show initiative,
\tand can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure
\t
* Be tasked with performing
\tcommissioning, validation, planned preventative maintenance and
\treactive breakdown and repair activities to products located at
\tcustomers’ premises
\t
* Be home based and you will travel
\tthroughout the UK; this post involves spending time away from home
\tregularly
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful Medical Service Engineer must be qualified by
experience or have a minimum of an ONC or City and Guilds
qualification in a relevant Engineering subject, and must have
significant experience with automated systems, steam, compressor,
pumps or other relevant industries. You must have completed a time
served apprenticeship or have relevant working experience in a
similar role and will ideally have experience of working within an
ISO registered environment. It is essential you have valid UK driving
licence, good IT skills, and excellent communication skills and have
the self-motivation and the ability to work as an individual or as
part of a team. Although not essential candidates with electrical
experience would be highly desirable.
If you’re applying
for the Apprentice Service Engineer position, you will ideally have a
Grade C / 4 or above GCSE (or equivalent qualification) and will need
to be resourceful, show initiative, good analytical skills and that
you can deal with multiple tasks and work under pressure. You should
be someone who has an inquisitive mind and who has a natural passion
for engineering and any hands on experience, for example in re wiring
or equipment, stripping of cars / engines or other engineering
principals would be welcomed. You must be someone who is reliable,
punctual, is IT literate and is committed to attending college or
appropriate training establishments as required. Candidates must also
be able to work individually as well as part of team and will ideally
have a valid UK Driving Licence, but is not essential.
