The Role
The Manual/CNC Machinist will be responsible for machining compressor components for small batch work in accordance with engineering drawings.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
* A Certificate in Machine Shop Technology/Machine Tool Technology or a time-served apprenticeship would be advantageous.
* Experience in manual machining, as well as reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings, is essential.
* Experience working with CNC machines and CAD/CAM software would be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
* Machining components using manual turning, manual mills, lathes, saws, and radial drills.
* Self-inspecting components against drawings and reporting any manufacturing errors to the line manager to agree on corrective action.
* Ensuring production requirements are met in line with the production schedule.
* Monitoring and maintaining tool conditions.
* Providing input to improve run times and reduce downtime, supporting continuous improvement.
* Performing all work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures.
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

* Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 (30-minute unpaid lunch break).
