Role Purpose
Waste & Recycling is a busy and varied section, offering interesting experience in a growing industry. The post of a Waste Area Assistant has become available in our waste collections team to provide support and advice to customers on waste related issues, for example missed collections, what goes in each bin. The successful candidate would work in conjunction with waste operations staff to ensure customer service is maintained and that waste collections are carried out as effectively and efficiently as possible in line with SBC polices and guidance. Also to carry out administrative tasks, maintaining databases and gathering statistics. Monitoring emails and actioning or assigning to appropriate staff. May also require occasional outdoor work, for example, assisting with stock takes and bin monitoring.
Essential
Good general education level, including 3 standard grades or demonstrable equivalent work experience and training

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
