The Residential Child Care Worker is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and adolescents in a residential care setting. This role involves supporting the emotional and developmental needs of residents while promoting positive behaviour and social skills. The worker will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans and assist in crisis intervention as needed.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct care and supervision to children and adolescents in a residential setting
* Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with the treatment team
* Monitor and document residents' behaviour, progress, and any significant incidents
* Facilitate recreational and educational activities to promote social skills and personal development
* Assist residents in developing daily living skills and coping strategies
* Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications
* Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Children and Young People
* Experience working with children and adolescents in a residential or similar setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
* Knowledge of child development and trauma-informed care principles
* CPR and First Aid certification, or the willingness to obtain certification
