It is essential that you are a competent Fire Safety Inspector (FSI) in line with the Competency Framework for Fire Safety Regulators. Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) will be assessed during the process. A current driving licence, access to a vehicle for business use, and relevant business insurance are also required. All ‘grey book’ applicants must demonstrate competence in WM7. As a team leader, you will need to show strong leadership skills, effective decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving abilities. The ability to engage, inspire and motivate both internal and external stakeholders is key, as is a commitment to delivering our Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) and achieving our protection objectives to make communities across the West Midlands safe. Experience and skills Essential skills or experience a Level 4 Diploma as a Fire Safety Inspector proven competence as a Fire Safety Officer, meeting the standards set out in the Competency Framework for Fire Safety Regulators a valid driving licence, access to your own vehicle for work purposes, and appropriate business insurance the ability to manage change and innovate, ensuring the ongoing development and improvement of your team’s processes experience of identifying and addressing risk areas in line with Integrated Local Area Plans (ILAP) and the operations commanders’ risk reduction strategies the ability to review, scrutinise, and quality-check reports from your team, ensuring high standards of work. Desirable skills or experience qualifications or previous experience in planning or licensing management experience or a management qualification.
