Job Title: Approved Electrician / Electrician – Highways
Base Location: Exeter, Barnstaple or Plymouth
Salary: £33,849 - £37,137 depending on skills and experience and working hours - Time Incentive Management (TIM) Bonus Scheme, plus a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Full Time, 42 hours Monday – Friday 7am-4pm. Overtime available for those who want it.
Enerveo has an extensive street lighting business that manages over 1 million street lights across the UK and Ireland. Through design, project management, consultancy, installation, and maintenance, we play a major role in reducing energy consumption and carbon footprints, helping towns and cities become smarter, greener, and more efficient.
What will I be doing in this role?
You will be joining a well-established team with a long-standing client base and secured contracts for the next 8+ years. Working throughout Devon, you will maintain and install street lighting and streetlight columns, LED upgrades, CMS cell upgrades, and other highway electrical equipment.
In a typical day, you could expect to be:
* Installing and maintaining street lighting apparatus and furniture, including street lights, signposts, or signs.
* Diagnosing faults and fixing faulty equipment as needed.
* Completing reactive repairs to return highways lighting to an operational standard.
* Changing, maintaining, and testing equipment to prevent future issues.
* Delivering outstanding service to our clients and the general public.
* Operating a mobile elevated working platform.
* Updating inventory information on assets using tablet devices.
* Collecting CMS information.
* Working to strict safety guidelines and regulations.
* Undertaking standby and call-out duties as needed.
What do I need to be successful in the role?
* You will have an electrical background and will have completed an apprenticeship achieving an NVQ Level 3 (2357) or approved equivalent, City and Guilds 2360 part 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 or equivalent qualifications.
* You must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
* A lot of this role will involve working at height, so you need to be comfortable with working in a MEWP above the ground.
* A full UK Driving Licence is required as we cover a wide range of locations.
* You must have an ECS card, CSCS card, or equivalent.
* Over 2 years of experience as a Highways Electrician is required for the Approved Electrician role.
Some of our ‘nice to haves’ are:
* IPAF/PASMA working at heights training.
* Completion of a G39 Electrical Safety training course.
* An HGV Class 2 Licence is a benefit but not essential.
* Good knowledge of the 18th Edition and C&G 2391 is beneficial.
