Job title: Principal Engineer- Assurance & Governance Lead
Location: Barrow in Furness, Filton, Frimley, Broadoak, Weymouth, Manchester
Salary: £45,628+ Dependent on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
* Organising and facilitating Engineering Design Reviews, ensuring efficient collaboration and decision-making
* Administering and updating Engineering Management Plans to align with evolving needs
* Collecting and analysing data for internal team processes and assurance, and presenting insights to senior stakeholders to ensure compliance and governance requirements are met
* Overseeing the certification process at the programme level, ensuring the department meets compliance standards
* Assisting in the implementation of various compliance and governance documentation to uphold industry standards
* Managing Safety and Information Assurance to ensure adherence to regulatory and safety protocols
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree in STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience
* Chartered or working towards Engineer
* Broad Systems Engineering knowledge
* Previous experience of producing Engineering management plans
* Front end design process experience
Desirable:
* Knowledge of ARP4754A/DO178C/DO254

The Process and Governance team:
You will play a key role in delivering and sustaining operational excellence for UK Defence. As the System Owner for Governance and Assurance, you'll take ownership of critical processes, ensuring compliance across all areas. Working across multiple business units, you'll develop strong networking skills and build valuable contacts while gaining broad exposure to the entire submarine lifecycle. You'll contribute to key decisions that directly impact the safety and performance of submarines.
