Job Title: Finance Manager
Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Bucks Students' Union. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the finance office and function for the Union and its trading company, providing financial performance information to management and budget holders, and producing management accounts and other reports as required.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the finance office and function for the Union and its trading company
* Provide financial performance information to management and budget holders
* Produce management accounts and other reports as required
* Support the annual budget setting and preparations
* Manage the financial year end reporting and audit process including the preparation of the annual accounts
* Provide support for budget holders in managing departmental finances and meeting targets
* Ensure Union compliance in all matters pertaining to finance, financial regulations, and governance
Requirements:
* Qualified Accountant (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience of charity sector accounting
* Experience of managing a finance function or sufficient combined experience, skills, and knowledge to undertake this
* Experience of producing statutory accounts and dealing with auditors, experience of supervising and/or managing staff
* Excellent communication, inter-personal, and presentation skills, ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to monitor financial and administrative systems, computer literate with Sage, Microsoft Word, and Excel
