Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop and deliver innovative solutions by leveraging a broad portfolio of software technologies. You will work as part of a small team and be empowered to work independently with minimal supervision.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the ongoing design and development of Command and Control architectures, as well as their instantiations for future products. This role is ideal for a proactive Software Engineer who takes the initiative.
What you'll get to do as a Software Engineer C++:
1. A strong background in software engineering, its realisation and system wide impact.
2. Experience of working in C++.
3. Collaborative, open approach to development and have the ability to work well in a team and maintain momentum during development.
4. Experience of working across the entire software development process from engaging with requirement authorities to automated target integration and proving, supported with effective documentation.
5. Experience of new tools, techniques and approaches that might enable us to evolve our processes to improve our efficiency and sustainability.
6. Experience in other languages such as Ada, QT.
7. Knowledge of DDS middleware and Real Time Operating Systems.
8. Knowledge of standards such as DefStan 00-55, DO-178C or IEC61508 and restricted coding standards such as MISRA C++.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
