The role
The School of Geography & Environmental Science is seeking to appoint up to two Lecturers in Climate and Environmental Change (permanent Level 5 or 6 and 4-year fixed term Level 5). These appointments will strengthen and complement the school’s existing research, teaching, and impact activities within the interdisciplinary context of landscape dynamics, ecology, environmental change and sustainability.
Teaching activities for this post will be at undergraduate and/or postgraduate-taught (MSc) level, conducted through lectures, tutorials, practical classes, seminars, and/or fieldwork. Teaching responsibilities will involve co-teaching on core programme modules and/or field courses, with scope for developing new, innovative modules in specialist disciplinary areas.
About you
We seek applicants with a PhD (or equivalent professional qualification and/or experience) whose research actively engages disciplinary specialities in Physical Geography and/or Environmental Science. Methodological skills of particular relevance include climate, atmospheric or earth system modelling, geospatial analysis of large datasets or molecular analyses. Experience with undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching is desirable (Level 5) and essential for Level 6.
