Job summary We are thrilled to announce the opportunity to apply for two new Consultant roles in Sexual Health and HIV services to support patients across Bolton, Salford and Wigan. It is an exciting time to join the sexual health and HIV service with the national implementation of ED Opt-out testing for HIV and a focus on moving to a digital patient record. Successful candidates will work alongside other consultants and part of a multi-disciplinary team. These roles are part of an exciting new collaboration with Locala Sexual Health (a not-for-profit integrated sexual health service provider) in Wigan. Both roles will be employed by Bolton NHS Foundation Trust with NHS employment terms and conditions. A breakdown of each role has been included below: 1 X 10 PAs - Bolton and Salford Sexual Health and HIV consultant (based at Bolton One health centre (Bolton) and Lance Burn Health Centre (Salford) This post will provide Sexual Health and HIV services for Bolton patients and will also cover Salford HIV clinics. 1 X 10 PAs - Wigan Sexual Health and HIV consultant in collaboration with Locala This post will provide Sexual Health and HIV services for Wigan patients based at Locala Sexual Health (Wigan) Applicants may be required to cross-cover and work across all three locations to cover service need. Main duties of the job The main duties include, but are not limited to: Provide support to the existing sexual health team and undertake expert clinical practice in sexual health, family planning and HIV supporting the clinical director of the service. Diagnose manage and treat sexually transmitted infections including HIV with reference to local and national guidelines. Provide a comprehensive range of reversible contraceptives dependent on commissioning priorities, service needs and the skills and interests of the individual. With the Clinical director of the service develop and review clinical pathways and evidence based clinical guidelines in SRH. Provide clinical supervision and medical advice for all clinical staff according to the needs of the service.
