We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Building Consultancy Services Team
We pay an attractive salary of £37,938 - £40,476 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
A Quantity Surveyor is required within the busy Property Services team to provide cost advice, cost management and cost estimating services in relation to the Authority’s building related maintenance and new build projects.
The Authority has over 700 buildings, excluding housing, and Property Services delivers almost all of the related maintenance, improvement and new build projects. Current and future workload is very high and the successful candidate will be expected to work on projects ranging in value from £10k to £1m. Current projects include re-roofing, internal alteration and refurbishment schemes and building extensions.
The successful candidate will possess excellent technical and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. In return the successful candidate can expect to be kept busy with interesting work within the well-established and experienced Property Services team.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1. A Relelvant Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification on the Framework for wales. For example, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
2. Detailed knowledge of the technical, professional, legal and commercial issues associated with local authority construction and maintenance programmes.
3. Relevant experience of working in a construction or related area of work.
4. A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit sites and supervise projects.
