Job Title: Legal Counsel / Lawyer - Hybrid / Paddington or Reading
Location: Paddington or Reading office every Monday and Thursday
Salary/Rate: Up to £540 a day Inside IR35
Start Date: April / May
Job Type: 6 Month Contract (With scope to extend)
Company Introduction
We are looking for a Lawyer / Legal Counsel member to join our client on a fixed term contract basis to support the Network Expansion legal team with particular focus upon resolving disputes and effectively handling legal risks and issues across real estate and telecommunications. You will be getting stuck into a myriad of site acquisition, upgrade, renewal, estates matter, and forced site move matters. The work will involve managing a wide range of litigious matters (in the context of the Electronic Communications Code (ECC); prior knowledge of ECC is not essential) and the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
Required Skills/Experience
* Anyone 2PQE will be considered
* Real Estate experience - Must have knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant 1954 act
* Litigation experience
* Telco experience - or knowledge of 'the code' (Electronic Communication code)
* Deliver excellent pro-active and self-sufficient legal solutions.
* Present and report succinctly to Legal Directors/Senior Counsel and stakeholders at all levels within and outside the legal team.
* Become a trusted advisor who collaborates and develops strong connections across all stakeholders and colleagues asking for help when appropriate.
* Become a key part of an ever-growing and expanding culture of honest and open, non-judgmental feedback and growth.
* Degree-level education or suitable relevant experience together with any relevant professional qualifications.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
* You will be supporting with all aspects of rollout and ongoing management of our leasehold mast estates, including access issues, lease renewals, upgrades, alterations and acquiring rights under the new ECC.
* Providing commercially focused, accurate, effective and timely legal advice across a broad range of real estate matters.
* Proactively progressing matters to a conclusion through efficient and effective planning and management to meet competing demands, actively working alongside team members within and outside the legal team.
* Managing upwards, keeping the Senior Legal Counsel, Head of Legal and Legal Directors informed about important issues - you are able to present clearly and precisely, enabling others to understand the key facts and issues.
