Job Vacancy: Principal Estates Surveyor
Location: West London
Role Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Principal Estates Surveyor to lead on all estates management matters, including property acquisitions and disposals. This pivotal role involves negotiating sales, leases, and rental agreements, ensuring optimal returns on assets, and maintaining a resident-first approach. You will manage and develop key assets, including commercial portfolios and strategic development sites, and work collaboratively with various teams to ensure value for money and achieve significant savings for the Council.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the management of property acquisitions and disposals. Provide expert advice on strategic land holdings and development sites. Represent the Council on legal matters, including arbitrations and tribunals. Oversee property management and ensure compliance with regulations and customer care standards. Prepare reports and provide professional advice to Members. Participate in meetings and contribute to the development of asset management strategies. Essential Requirements:
Degree in a relevant subject, RICS membership, and evidence of continued professional development. Minimum 3 years’ experience in estates management and strong knowledge of landlord and tenant law. Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills. Full UK driving license and ability to travel as required. Desirable Skills:
