Job Title: ON-TRAIN - TICKET EXAMINER Location: Helensburgh Salary: £30,543 per annum on completion of training. The trainee salary is £21,193 per annum. You need an eye for detail when checking and issuing tickets, an organised mind when handling cash and processing card transactions and a level head when patrolling the train and dealing with overcrowding, travel, customer issues and other situations that might unexpectedly arise. This role will involve assisting passengers with disabilities to board and alight trains and could involve the use of a portable ramp which weighs up to 15kg, the portable ramp may be required to be carried the full length of a train. Skills Required: We are looking for candidates who have cash handling and customer facing experience. We can't stress enough how important it is that you are a 'people person' who can manage all kinds of situations constructively. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a commitment to exceeding customer expectations, have total confidence and ability to deal with conflict situations constructively, be a real team player and highly proactive. Your excellent communication skills will be evident, as will the ability to work alone when required and be able to demonstrate individual initiative when required. You don't need to have any experience as your training will include induction, customer service, commercial skills, first aid, fire safety, disability awareness and conflict management - will be professionally delivered to give you all the tools you need to master this interesting role.
