Job Title: Appointed Person & Crane Supervisor – Energy from Waste (New Build Project)

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Appointed Person and Crane Supervisor to join our clients team on an exciting Energy from Waste (EfW) new build project. This critical role will ensure the safe and efficient planning, execution, and supervision of all lifting operations on-site, in line with project timelines and health & safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, review, and author lift plans and risk assessments for all crane and lifting operations.
2. Supervise all lifting operations, ensuring compliance with LOLER regulations, BS7121 standards, and site-specific safety procedures.
3. Coordinate with site managers, lifting teams, subcontractors, and crane operators to ensure safe and efficient lifts.
4. Conduct pre-lift meetings and briefings with all involved parties.
5. Ensure all lifting equipment is properly maintained, certified, and fit for purpose.
6. Provide leadership and technical support to lifting personnel and site teams.
7. Monitor the performance of crane teams to ensure safe practices are adhered to at all times.
8. Identify and address any issues that could impact safety, scheduling, or quality.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for lifting operations on the project.
Requirements:
10. CPCS or NPORS Accredited Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) certification.
11. CPCS or NPORS Accredited Crane Supervisor certification.
12. Proven experience in lifting operations on major construction or heavy industrial projects – experience within the Energy from Waste, Power, or Process sectors highly desirable.
13. Strong working knowledge of relevant legislation (LOLER, PUWER, BS7121).
14. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
15. Ability to produce and review comprehensive lift plans and method statements.
16. Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
17. CSCS card and full UK driving licence required.
18. First Aid at Work qualification (preferred).
