Reed is working with a fantastic Client, based in Yatton, North Somerset. Recruiting for a Stock Controller on a full time, permanent basis.
You will be office based within this role, and NOT warehouse/goods in.
Looking for: Strong manufacturing background, previous inventory/material planning experience is essential and strong analysing skills.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing approximately 2000 stock lines, ensuring product availability to the required service level, and buying from global, European, and UK suppliers. This role is crucial for the successful introduction of new products and requires a candidate with a strong system knowledge and familiarity with terms such as BOM, ROP, EOQ, and lead time.
Day-to-day of the role:
1. Monitor and manage stock levels to meet customer demand while minimizing holding costs.
2. Use stock replenish system to order new stock, analysing demand and production requirements.
3. Conduct regular stock counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
4. Communicate with suppliers to track orders, confirm delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies.
5. Expedite urgent orders and resolve stock-related issues proactively.
6. Maintain accurate item records in the ERP system, ensuring correct costing and sales price.
7. Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and seek continuous improvements.
8. Investigate and resolve invoice queries and work closely with forwarding agents and haulier companies.
9. Ensure correct Manufacturing Bill of Material, including tools, operations, and product configuration.
10. Track slow-moving, non-moving, and aged stock, analysing causes and recommending solutions.
11. Prioritize daily system reports and resolve stock-related issues.
12. Collaborate with sales, production, and planning teams to ensure smooth operations and meet business goals.
13. Introduce new products successfully, ensuring stock availability for launch dates.
14. Evaluate reports, identify inefficiencies, and continuously improve processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Experience in Purchasing & inventory management using a computerised Replenish System.
2. Manufacturing background and familiarity with supply chain practices.
3. Proficiency in the use of ERP systems.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and process data.
5. Problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
6. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
7. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.
8. Flexibility and adaptability to change and growth within the department.
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday - 8.30am - 5.00pm (45 mins break) Friday - 8.30am - 4.00pm (hour break)
