Take a closer look at the role: Job description: In this role you will work within a group of multi-disciplined engineers responsible for developing tools, applications and workflows that provide capability across the team’s Aerodynamics department, forming part of the critical CFD pipeline required to develop the team’s race cars. What you will be doing: Develop and implement CFD methodologies, process, and tools aimed at continuously enhancing predictive accuracy, efficiency, and overall effectiveness. Work with Aerodynamicists to solve problems and develop a fit-for-purpose CFD processes which is adequate and responsive to the aerodynamic development needs. Delivery of robust, observable, testable & performant processes. Ensure that CFD simulations and analysis carried out within the department are aligned with the capability of the tools. Optimization, maintenance, and support of new and existing codes, processes and toolkits. Working and contributing across multiple disciplines of the CFD group; including process, external flows, internal flows, thermal modelling, and pipeline development. Work with our software engineers to translate engineering codes into robust applications. Contribute to the day-to-day activities of the CFD group. Provide support to users of the CFD process. Requirements A degree in a relevant discipline (Aerospace/Motorsport Engineering) or similar, ideally with a focus on Aerodynamics or CFD. Has a minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the motorsport industry. Strong knowledge of fluid physics, numerical methods, turbulence modelling. Experience in programming (C++, Python, Java, or VBA) and experience with STAR-CCM and open-source CFD codes. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors. Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email. Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
