Team Leader Classics
Hours: Monday - Friday 10pm - 6am
Your Team
The step between cooking and dishing and the step that ensures our customers' food is safe and other teams' workflow doesn’t stop. By safeguarding our products, monitoring chill times, and doing the final checks before dishing, you help create our remarkable products. Not only that, you provide a service that ensures our customers get consistency every time they enjoy our delicious food.
Responsibilities
1. Use your knowledge of our food to ensure that all components of the dish are of the correct specification and high quality.
2. Sign off all relevant paperwork and ensure information on unity (internal database) has been inputted correctly.
3. Communication is key. Ensure that you keep your team up to date with new products coming through the kitchen and team targets are communicated – everyone needs to be working towards the same goal.
4. You must ensure that all members of your team (including agency workers) are trained in all aspects of their role. This includes all machinery, health and safety, and all relevant work instructions.
5. Organize the team's workload, review frequently, and liaise with your team and other departments to ensure the best utilization of staff and equipment.
6. Update the Head Chef regularly on the team's progress and raise any concerns you have without unnecessary delay.
7. Team Leadership - Develop good relations through fair and consistent leadership. Conduct all necessary 121 meetings with your team whilst continually showcasing and living by our Essential Ingredients.
About COOK
COOK is a pioneering frozen food company. Since 1997, we’ve been making remarkable food for your freezer, prepared by hand at our Kitchens in Kent (savoury) and Somerset (puddings) using the same ingredients and techniques you would at home. It means our food looks and tastes homemade, maybe even a bit better.
We’re market leaders and (more importantly) our food tastes incredible. We have over 90 shops and a rapidly growing online business.
We’re independent (family-owned) and always will be because it allows us to do things the right way, not the fast way. We believe in business as a force for good in society and have certified as one of the UK’s first B Corporations to help us measure what matters when it comes to our impact on our environment, our people, and our community.
We share 5% of our annual profits with staff.
To produce and distribute accurate weekly reports for the kitchens to the operational leaders and regular KPI reporting. Analyze the performance and suggest improvements. To look at the existing reports and processes and suggest how they can be improved. To assist in the period-end processes and reporting as well as the annual budgeting process.
To support the manufacturing team and produce additional analysis as and when required.
Good to Have
* Good communication skills.
* Live the Cook Values, participating in a happy and productive environment.
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Catering would be great, but not essential. You will need experience of working within a kitchen and fast-paced environment.
