About the Role
The Hopes & Dreams Garden:
In 2017, a group of Fullbrook students attending Eikon's lunch clubs had a dream to transform a completely overgrown part of their school grounds into a beautiful garden that could be enjoyed by future students. The students fundraised, designed and created this amazing garden and with the support of Eikon staff and community volunteers, the garden officially opened in July 2019.
Since then, students and volunteers have continued to enjoy maintaining the garden together at their weekly garden clubs. The young gardeners today enjoy improving and expanding the garden spaces as part of garden club. The garden is a safe space for many young people, but is also now enjoyed by many others, including Eikon staff, Fullbrook staff and students.
The success of the garden has been made possible from the generous contributions from volunteers and young people but the time available to them is limited therefore additional help is needed.
We are looking for a Gardener to assist with general garden maintenance, who will help ensure that the eco-friendly, organic garden continues to have year-round, seasonal interest for everyone using the garden, complementing the activities/tasks of the Young People each week at Gardening Club.
Responsibilities
* Weeding flower beds and borders

* Staking, dividing and deadheading a broad variety of plants
* Sweeping and clearing leaves/debris

* Assisting with planting seasonal flowers and plants
* Identifying waste that can be either composted or bagged for removal
