Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join our company and work in the Engineering team based at our Broomhouse Lane site based in DN12. Role: As the Team Leader, you will ensure application of effective maintenance of all plant equipment and site services and support. Responsible for direction and delivery of engineering strategy. In addition to the planned maintaining of equipment, you will also be responsible for effective management and direction of appropriate resource to carry out reactive work where required and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders is undertaken in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: First line management of maintenance and repair activities Prioritise teams’ workloads, and react to urgent business needs Identify skills gaps in the capabilities and competencies of the team to deliver improved performance. Develop and instil continuous improvement principles and methodologies, to implement new/improved operational practices Liaise regularly with other internal/external departments to ensure the achievement of high levels of customer satisfaction and the effective management of customer expectations. Responsible for the safe operation of all plant and equipment on site, the safe working practices of the team, contractors and apprentices – at times, this role will be the most senior engineering person on site. Assist in PM schedule management and review, BD/reactive work order management, critical and non-critical spares management. Effective and timely communication in both verbal and written form, to include daily, weekly and monthly written reports. Skills and Requirements: Strong engineering background, ideally time served multiskilled Engineer, educated to ONC/HNC level in Mechanical or Electrical discipline, having demonstrated working in a highly automated and faced paced environment. Previous experience Managing a multi-disciplined team at first line level, or able to demonstrate the ability to step up to this level Strong experience of working within a CMMS system. Executing, reviewing, writing and amending TPM routines. Strong Digital skills required (Microsoft packages bespoke industrial tools – PLC/Industrial interface programs) Extensive knowledge and technical experience gained within a continuous production environment. Significant experience assisting in delivering continuous improvement programmes. Working Hours & Benefits: Panama Shifts, 2 on 3 off, 3 on 2 off, 12 hours days & nights.
