Job Description:
The Digital Mock Up (DMU) Engineer ensures the integrity and quality of the digital representation of our race car. This role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy of the DMU, identifying and resolving component clashes, and managing the weights of various parts to meet design and performance criteria. By collaborating with designers, quality assurance teams, and manufacturing departments, the DMU Engineer ensures seamless integration and functionality of all components. Additionally, they develop and educate the design team on best practices for using the DMU, promoting efficiency and accuracy in the design process. Ultimately, the DMU Engineer bridges the gap between digital design and physical manufacturing, ensuring the final product meets all design and performance standards.
What You'll be doing:
* Serve as a reference point and support the complete car DMU for the Design Team.
* Identify clashes and performance compromises, and work with Designers to correct issues before Design Release.
* Liaise with Designers, Quality, and Manufacturing to manage weights of components from Concept through to Design and Manufacture.
* Collaborate with the Head of Concept to track and manage overall car mass and distribution.
* Develop and educate the Design Team on best practices for the DMU.
Requirements:
* A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering) or similar.
* Experience and passion for motorsport is an advantage.
* Clear and concise communication skills, both verbally and via email.
* Detail-oriented with a strong independent work ethic.
* Ability to prioritize in a time-pressured environment and manage personal deadlines.
* Self-motivated, innovative, and comfortable working independently while meeting challenging deadlines.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.
