Description P&O Ferries are recruiting for an IT Support Engineer to join our IT team based at our office in Dover. The IT Support Engineer will be responsible for providing both 1st line, and 2nd line technical support and troubleshooting assistance to our clients at various locations. This position requires extensive travel and the ability to work independently in diverse environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in network infrastructure, including cabling and configuration, as well as Intune packaging, and Checkpoint Harmony, with a focus on delivering high-quality support services to our clients. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to travel at short notice to multiple sites across the business. Please note that this role involves shift work between 06:00 – 20:00 Monday-Friday and alternated call out cover over the weekends. Location: Dover Key responsibilities: Provide 1st line support by handling service desk phone calls, logging incidents, and performing initial troubleshooting. Escalate unresolved issues to other IT support teams and provide advanced technical assistance as needed. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and network infrastructure. Configure, deploy, and manage Intune packaging and deployment solutions for client environments. Implement and maintain network infrastructure solutions, including network cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Perform network configuration tasks, such as VLAN setup, IP addressing, and routing protocols. Perform security assessments and audits, identify vulnerabilities, and implement solutions to mitigate security risks. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to design and implement network infrastructure upgrades and enhancements. Provide training and guidance to clients on IT systems, applications, and best practices. Document all support activities, solutions, and resolutions in the ticketing system. Key skills: 3-5 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on both 1st line and 2nd line support. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Certifications such as CompTIA Network, Security, Microsoft Certified: Intune and Azure, or Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) are advantageous Good interpersonal skills Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality support services Full UK Driving Licence At P&O Ferries we want you to be you.
