Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a special provision in Weston-Super-Mare seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to join their warm, welcoming team.
The team supports students beyond their educational needs, assisting with daily basic needs and advocating for those who cannot speak for themselves. The school offers sensory rooms and a hydro pool, providing unique support environments.
The children have high needs and may require assistance with walking, using wheelchairs or crutches, operating PCs, and potentially with medication and feeding. This role welcomes candidates with experience supporting individuals of all ages outside the classroom, emphasizing your expertise, open-mindedness, and playful approach.
* Start Date: Full-time, beginning April 23rd
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:40 am - 3:40 pm (term time only); flexible work arrangements available

The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Be confident, proactive, and resilient, especially with challenging behaviour
* Enjoy engaging in interactive play with young children, maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humour
* Work well in a team and be receptive to feedback and growth
* Ideally have experience with children or individuals with disabilities, but experience in care for children or adults is essential
* Maintain an open mind regarding the support needs

Pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position with potential for permanency later.
