Experienced Practice Nurse required Monday to Friday
Hours are negotiable
Pay depending on experience
We have two sites: Main site is Weoley Park Surgery, 112 Weoley Park Road, B29 5HA and branch site is Grange Hill Surgery, 41 Grange Hill Road, B38 8RF
Will be required to work at both sites
Main duties of the job
Provide routine nursing care as required
Identify, manage, and support patients at risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the patients' health
Provide chronic disease clinics, asthma, diabetes, COPD etc., referring patients to secondary/specialist care as required
Provide vaccination and immunisation programs for both adults and children
Provide wound care including dressings & removal of sutures, staples & clips
Perform venepuncture
Process pathology results as required
Routine ear checks, syringing if necessary
Perform ECGs
Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations
Support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs
Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs
Meet the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care and other nursing activity
Assisting GPs with Minor Surgery Clinic
Maintaining a cleaning regime for equipment
Ordering of vaccinations, needles etc. in order to maintain stock levels
Undertake administration tasks as allocated
Delivery of training and development to required practice staff
Ensure treatment room is kept neat and tidy

We are a friendly practice with 4 GP Partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 2 Physician Associates and a team of administrative staff.
We are a training practice supporting GP registrars and medical students from local universities.
Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will
* Be proficient in EMIS, consulting with patients to deliver high-quality healthcare (desirable)
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in QOF and associated skills, including traditional treatment room tasks (e.g., child/adult immunisations, travel vaccinations, cervical cytology, dressings, wound care, family planning, and BP monitoring).
* Management of long-term conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma).
* Be innovative, enthusiastic, and caring, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
* Actively contribute to maintaining our values and the development of patient services.
* Be open to skills development and participate in clinical meetings.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse RGN with valid NMC registration.
* Proven experience in primary care
* Competence in chronic disease management, e.g., diabetes, asthma, hypertension.
* Experience with vaccinations, cytology, and wound care.
* Experience with Quality and Outcomes Framework QOF targets and audits.
Skills and Competencies:
* Excellent clinical skills, including history taking and care planning.
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
* Competence in using electronic patient record systems.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
