Our client based in Newcastle is looking for an Assembly & Test Fitter with mechanical engineering experience to join an expanding team on a permanent basis.
Working as a team on the shop floor to perform overhauls on various turbine ancillary equipment, ensuring all repairs are completed on time and to high standards.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Salary:
28-30k
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that relevant drawings and information are available for other departments to facilitate in the production of required parts.
2. Use the company's 3D design software to produce the engineering drawings.
3. Extract information from supplied drawings to prepare basic engineering drawings.
4. Reverse engineer existing products, using available inspection equipment.
5. Provide engineering design support for products in the Osborne Group product lines, including but not limited to bearings, seals, fuel system components and technical training in accordance with customer requirements.
6. Assist in the inspection department.
7. Ensure all work/tasks/procedures/documentation meet the requirements of ISO 9001.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, Training and Experience:
1. Must be educated in the Mechanical Engineering field.
2. Must have a good engineering understanding and awareness, with the drive to enhance their engineering knowledge.
3. Competent in the use of 3D CAD (preferably SolidWorks).
4. Must be able to use measuring equipment.
5. Planning and organisational skills are also required to ensure objectives and deadlines are met.
6. Excellent written and verbal skills are required.
