Tendering Engineer (Projects)
Wakefield
We require a Tendering Engineer (Projects) to join our team in Wakefield. You will be responsible for tendering projects for the Ipsum Power Major Projects division. Typical projects to be tendered include DNO contestable works 11-33kV, renewable energy balance of plant works DC/LV up to 33kV, access to 66kV-132kV projects, and training to assist career progress.
Your New Job
* Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures of Ipsum Power Ltd and its customers.
* Tender multiple and/or major projects from a tendering perspective safely, competently, and effectively to time and budget.
* Ensure project meets all current legislation (HASAWA, NRSWA, C.O.S.H.H., etc.).
* Total control for costing schemes and quotations as required.
* Identify and inform Ipsum Power Private Ltd Directors / Senior Managers of commercial opportunities as appropriate.
* Produce front-end programme for certain tenders using Project Management tools (Desirable).
* Final review of delivered projects to assess financial and delivery performance.
* Liaise with line manager on a daily/weekly basis to manage critical dates.
* Full job pack handover to be produced with your line manager, and handover meeting to be attended as required with PMs.
* Work with the Major projects teams to ensure safe, effective, and efficient implementation of Ipsum Power Private operations.
* Contribute to the wider team: advise, share knowledge, and experience based on expertise.
* Liaise with colleagues across Ipsum Power Private Ltd organization to ensure effective completion of tasks.
* Represent Ipsum Power Ltd when required at customer and other company meetings.
* Establish and maintain good relationships with customers and other external parties.
* Attend site surveys for tendering purposes when required.
* Implement Ipsum Power Private Ltd approach to quality in all you do and complete all work to high standards.
* Identify and implement areas of improvement in Ipsum Power processes and operations.
* Ensure working practices and processes are followed.
* Tenders to be returned in a timely fashion, on time as per pre-agreed deadlines.
Required Qualifications & Professional Membership(s):
* Degree, HNC, HND in Electrical Related Subject
Knowledge & Experience:
* ICP or Major Project experience at 33kV, minimum of 3 years' experience required.
* Able to produce Microsoft Project programmes.
* Able to use CAD to produce site layouts.
* Experience of operating in a commercial, multi-divisional organization.
* Detailed understanding of current HV electrical project and ICP sectors.
* Solid and up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation, and technical advances, and a good knowledge of Health and Safety practice and Risk Assessment processes.
