We are looking foranenthusiastic and experienced Paediatric Clinical Psychologist tojoinourMajor Trauma Centre at St George’s Hospital.This role provides an opportunity to work with children and young people with serious and life changing injuries, their families and staff members working within the Major Trauma service.
The post holder will have the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team where psychology is valued and well established. Alongside an active clinical role, the post holder will have opportunities to shape and develop psychological care pathways within the Major Trauma Centre as part of the Integrated Psychological Model of Care pilot.
The post holder will offer specialist psychological support to children and young people who are under the care of the Major Trauma Centre, ensuring a timely and equitable response to new referrals, robust screening of distress and the chance to offer specialist psychological intervention where appropriate. There are many opportunities, alongside the inpatient and outpatient work for staff teaching, training and consultation.
The majority of the face-to-face clinical work takes place on the surgical wards and in paediatric intensive care. There are opportunities to work creatively to deliver effective clinical psychology interventions.
