About this Position:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Design Review Lead to oversee gated design reviews for a large-scale nuclear crane project. This role requires ensuring designs meet stringent nuclear safety, traceability, and manufacturability standards while unifying sectional assessments into a cohesive project perspective. The position is based in Sheffield, UK (on-site collaboration required), with an initial 3-month contract (3–5 days/week) or ad-hoc consultancy arrangement.
Job Responsibilities:

Lead 20+ sectional stage design reviews to validate fabricability, manufacturability, and assemblability of nuclear crane designs.

Collaborate with Lead/Senior Engineers to assess design models, proposed changes, and technical documentation.

Ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards (e.g., welding execution, quality/traceability protocols, BNFL-aligned requirements).

Identify risks in fabrication/assembly processes and provide actionable, evidence-based feedback to drive improvements.

Oversee dimensional accuracy and adherence to safety-critical parameters during design phases.

Bridge gaps between design intent and practical execution, ensuring alignment with project goals.
