Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be working with our Belfast client to recruit a full-time and permanent Sea Freight Forwarder.
As part of the sea freight team, you will be responsible for arranging freight shipments from start to finish, including booking acceptance, coordinating with shipping lines, processing customs, creating documentation, following up, invoicing, and providing first-class customer service throughout.
Responsibilities
1. Process and manage the shipment of freight for existing customers.
2. Deal with HMRC customs regulations to ensure efficient cargo clearance for import cargo and global shipments.
3. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers, carriers, and overseas agents.
4. Proactively manage the existing customer portfolio.
5. Manage the import/export process end-to-end, ensuring compliance with UK, Irish, and overseas laws and regulations.
6. Oversee the completion of all relevant documentation related to international distribution.
7. Liaise with overseas agents to coordinate consolidation of inbound LCL containers.
8. Manage inbound customs clearance through Irish and UK customs systems.
Requirements
* At least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding; sea freight experience is preferred.
* Experience with inbound and outbound customs processes.
* Strong attention to detail and process-driven approach.
* Experience in handling LCL shipments is preferred.
