Job Summary
As the Junior Buyer in this expanding business, you will directly oversee specific categories. Your role entails managing the KPIs within these departments and providing support across other categories as needed.
Assisting the Senior Buyer, you will support with product strategy and team management, building relationships within the immediate and wider teams.
Product sourcing decisions will be driven by data, and you will engage the relevant team members cross-functionally to develop superior quality, market-leading product ranges. A key focus will be given to speed to market, striving to be first to market on the latest product.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities of Junior Buyer
1. Strategic product ranging to optimise category performance.
2. Manage KPIs for accountable categories, ensuring they meet and strive to exceed category financial goals.
3. Source and manage the product ranges from initial concept until launch.
4. Lead the planning and completion of key Critical Path milestone meetings.
5. Engage and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best range and prices in the market.
6. Work closely with the offline sales team, reacting immediately to ad hoc customer requests.
7. Support with sourcing strategy considering supplier performance and COO analysis in line with agreed business strategy.
8. Attend trade shows with a strategic mindset, always reporting back and acting on business opportunities.
9. Report in weekly meetings on product and channel sales as well as key customers.
10. Help implement and manage key buying processes, with efficiency being key.
11. Accountable for the critical path and support the Assistant Buyers with its management.
12. Present in Offline Sales meetings, providing the team with important information and gaining knowledge of our customers' needs and requirements.
13. Help manage and coach Assistant Buyers.
14. Take on additional responsibilities as requested from Senior Buyer & Head of Product.

1. Be either an established Assistant Buyer ready to step up to a Junior Buyer or already operating at this level.
2. Be experienced in range building and data analysis.
3. Be experienced in working with suppliers from different COO's.
4. Thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
5. Have a passion for product & trade and a real desire to make a difference to the business.
6. Attend trade shows, training, meetings, and other events as requested by senior management.
7. Preferably have worked with and have knowledge of Technical products and industry.
8. Be confident and enthusiastic, with the ability to bring energy and pace to the buying and merchandising team.
9. Always be an ambassador for the business and brands.
10. Build strong working relationships, internally and externally.
11. Preferably have experience managing an Assistant Buyer or Buyers Admin Assistant.
