We have an exciting opportunity for a Peer Mentor Coordinator at our HMP Five Wells Resettlement Service. Our focus is to facilitate recovery, reinforce hope and support lifestyle change with prisoners engaging with our service.
Where: Wellingborough, East Midlands
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary: £27,449.52- £31,529.41 (Pro Rata for part time hours)
Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract or happy to consider secondments for internal staff.
Responsibilities
What we are looking for:
* Experience of or the proven ability to manage and supervise peer mentors/volunteers.
* Evidence of a commitment to service user involvement and development.
* Experience of developing and delivering training packages or group work programmes.
* Proven leadership skills.
* Experience of contributing to project development.
* Experience of auditing to inform evaluation and service development.
* Experience of working within substance misuse or criminal justice services.
* Understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
* Experience of risk assessment and risk management procedures.
* Experience of working effectively with external agencies.
* Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers and offenders, their families, and carers.
* Demonstrate an understanding of Equal Opportunities and Diversity.
* Demonstrable administrative and IT skills.
* Train peer mentors to support offenders in the community.
* Ability to recruit, train and induct peer mentors and volunteers.
* Knowledge of local services and geography.
* Experience of recruitment processes and procedures.
* Experience of delivering Supervisions and 1-2-1s.
