Ravenswood Medical Practice has a great opportunity for a part time Practice Nurse. We are looking for 2 days (18 hours), however the hours are negotiable for the right candidate.
At Ravenswood Medical Practice we are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our busy, friendly GP practice. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the GPs and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Practice Nurse will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.
* Chronic disease management according to protocols.
* Coronary Heart Disease and Contraception.
* Peak Flow Readings.
* Health promotion.
* Learning Disability Checks.
* Cytology.
* Wound care.
* Removal of Sutures.
* Travel Risk assessment, immunisations and advice.
* ECGs.
* Venepuncture.
* Child immunisations.

You will be joining our large Medical Practice team consisting of 9 GPs, 5 paramedics, Nursing team of 10, Admin team and Reception teams serving a population of approximately 15,000 patients.

Job responsibilities
The postholder works under supervision of the GP Partners and undertakes tasks and duties delegated by the practice. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures while providing supervision to more junior staff.

* Competent in the use of IT systems.
* Experience of working in a Nursing Team.
