WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As the Payroll Administrator, you'll be at the forefront of our payroll operations. Your responsibilities will include processing payroll and expense reimbursements, compiling necessary documentation, and ensuring accuracy under the guidance of the Senior Finance Manager.
JOB DUTIES
1. Execute end-to-end payroll processing, including data input, verification, and distribution of employee payments.
2. Prepare required reports, such as Record of Employment.
3. Prepare remittances for Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB), Employer Health Tax (EHT), Employment Insurance (EI), Pension, Benefits, and other remittances as required, for review.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including changes in employment status, tax withholding, and benefits.
5. Validate and correct time and attendance data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
6. Assist with resolution of payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner, which supports a positive employee experience.
7. Maintain confidential payroll records and ensure proper storage and disposal procedures are followed, in accordance with privacy legislation and regulations.
8. Prepare and update payroll procedures and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
Job Requirements
1. Degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field preferred.
2. Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Designation or ability and willingness to obtain.
3. Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or in a similar role.
4. In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
5. Strong proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
6. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
8. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
9. Valid driver’s licence required.
