Facilities and Maintenance Operative
Job Purpose: Ensuring the efficient daily running of our client’s Base Maintenance Facility in Prestwick.
Job Accountabilities:
1. Ensure all vehicles are kept in a clean and serviceable condition.
2. Daily/weekly checks on all company airside and landside vehicles, including completion of company inspection sheets and reporting any unserviceability/reliability issues.
3. Daily/weekly checks of all company MEWPS and Forklifts including completion of company inspection sheets and reporting any unserviceability/reliability issues.
4. Ensure all company vehicles have sufficient fuel for the day’s operation.
5. Ensure all company GSE (ground service equipment) is kept in a clean and serviceable condition.
6. Daily/weekly/monthly checks on all company airside and landside GSE, including but not limited to; scaffolding, access platforms, GPU (ground power units), safety barrier fencing, completion of company inspection sheets and reporting any unserviceability/reliability issues.
7. Ensure all company GSE have sufficient fuel for the day’s operation.
8. Ensure the hangar facility is kept clean, tidy and safe, including but not limited to:
1. Assisting with management of the hangar waste management programme.
2. Emptying hangar bins.
3. Enforcing waste management procedure.
4. Keeping hangar floor clear of dust, debris, spills and FOD (foreign object debris), including a daily hangar floor clean.
5. Carrying out the daily hangar bird scare programme.
9. Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks or projects including but not limited to:
1. Escorting duties.
2. Driving of forklift, MEWPS, tugs.
10. Facilities Duties: General care and maintenance of the facility including but not limited to:
1. Ad hoc repairs.
2. Timely reaction to raised Facilities request tickets.
3. Painting of offices/facilities.
4. Movement of office furniture.
5. Ad hoc projects as directed by the Facilities & HSE Manager.
6. PAT testing.
7. Advising of waste uplift requirements.
11. Admin Duties: Completion & filing of company forms/inspections sheets.
12. Coordination & booking in vehicles/equipment for servicing/repairs/calibration/approvals/MOTs/etc.
13. Reporting of cleaning products stock, including PPE.
14. Maintain compliance with Health and Safety & COSHH regulations, Client Aviation procedures & risk assessments.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
1. Full UK driving license.
2. Proven experience in carrying out similar functions as listed above, within an industrial environment.
3. Proven experience in successful completion of small-medium sized DIY projects and repairs.
4. Experience in use of forklift trucks, MEWPs, & commercial vans an advantage.
5. Ability to work autonomously without supervision.
6. Ability to handle tooling, power tools, heavy equipment and machinery.
7. Understanding of Health & Safety & COSHH Regulations.
