We have a vacancy for a Pastoral Manager starting on Wednesday 4th June 2025.
This is a permanent post, term time only, working 35 hours per week.

The successful candidate will:
* Provide support and guidance to pupils (and staff working with them) and families in order to promote effective attendance, enhance individual learning and enable pupils to achieve their full potential.
* In addition to the varied Pastoral Manager responsibilities, support groups of pupils with their academic learning, as determined by the need of the school.
* Be an enthusiastic, versatile team member willing to respond to the challenging needs of this post. St. Mary’s CE Primary School is actively committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
* Promote, develop and maintain effective and supportive relationships with pupils and their extended families.
* Develop strategies for overcoming barriers to learning i.e. behaviour including social and emotional, motivation, aspirations and academic achievement.
* Liaise with SLT/ SENCO’s and external agencies to ensure pupil is appropriately supported.
* Assist in the identification of early signs of disengagement or anxiety towards school.
* Monitor/identify attendance/punctuality and devise strategies to address low attendance and punctuality, pupils at risk of exclusion, pupils with low self-esteem and motivation, pupils with social and emotional health issues which become a barrier to accessing learning, and pupils with family and school issues impacting on school life.
* Work alongside (or in the absence of) the Designated Safeguarding Lead in role as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and respond to reported Child Protection concerns.
* Develop, agree and implement personalised action plans with SENCO’s, Senior leaders, class teachers and the Well-being team for individual pupils, based on a comprehensive assessment of their strengths and needs, developing strategies for overcoming barriers to learning.
* Carry out the Lead Professional role within Early Help for cases where social and emotional health, attendance/punctuality are the key barriers to learning.
* Provide a collection service for pupils who, on rare occasions, need support attending school.
* Work collaboratively with a range of internal and external partners to ensure effective working and negotiate support.
* Develop and liaise with parents and carers.
* Provide school data analysis to identify areas of concern e.g. attendance/punctuality.
