The team Broadfield UK have offices in Southampton, the City of London, Reading and Cambridge. The Corporate and Commercial department is circa 40 people across the firm. Based day to day in Southampton, there are two Partners, one Legal Director, one Associate, one Assistant Solicitor, one Legal Apprentice and a Trainee Solicitor. The Southampton team are a leading, high profile teams in the region undertaking corporate, M&A, private equity, cross border and commercial work. The opportunity The successful candidate can look forward to having a high level of responsibility and have further opportunity to obtain excellent experience. This would suit an energetic and enthusiastic graduate undertaking their first role in a law firm and / or someone who has worked in a law firm but is looking for a position within a successful corporate team. Duties would include: Working with a number of people across the team/firm both in the Southampton team, the wider Corporate and Commercial team and the Southampton office more generally. Maintaining/review of electronic data rooms and general involvement with due diligence exercises. Dealing with and responding to client queries. Assembling key company information and data. Assisting with minutes, resolutions, Companies House forms and other company law documentation Providing support to Commercial legal practitioners. General administrative tasks such as electronic filing (profiling), scanning and archiving, amending documents. File management (file opening, closing, matter balance clearance, scheduling). Assisting the business development initiatives. Maintaining client databases, entering new client and contact information. Assisting with billing. Assisting with disclosure process. Drafting/reviewing ancillary documents and NDAs. Proof reading documents. Conducting legal research. Assisting with company registry filings. Collating and organising completions.
