Job Description BMS Project & Energy Management Engineer – Dorset & Hampshire An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual seeking a fulfilling and varied role in energy and project management. The role involves managing the refurbishment of BMS systems across several sites and similar locations along the South Coast of England, to optimise new BMS systems to reduce energy use. The ideal candidate will be based within the Hampshire or Dorset area. This role requires collaboration with BMS installers and service engineers to achieve high-quality and effective refurbishments of many life-expired BMS systems. The work is rewarding and offers the potential for significant positive environmental impact. Requirements: Candidates should have prior experience in building services and building management systems and be looking to advance to the next professional level. Full training, coaching, and mentoring will be provided. More emphasis is placed on aptitude and commitment than on pre-existing skills, as these can be taught. Key attributes include enthusiasm, focus, and organisational skills to ensure productive and effective work. Essential skills include: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively by phone Good subordinate development skills to mentor the growing number of graduates. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and an understanding of electrical drawing packages, with full training provided on the specific packages used. Specific Roles and Responsibilities: Conducting surveys of existing BMS installations under the guidance of the director. Assisting with consultancy efforts by understanding user perceptions of building control environments, prioritising energy use and costs, and obtaining policy and strategy documents from organisations. Performing routine tasks such as photographing building services plant and buildings and cataloguing the results. Proofreading reports, organizing appendices, and formatting documents. Engineering graphical interfaces for everyday users within the Niagara engineering framework, with full Niagara N4 training provided, leading to N4 Certification. This includes learning about heating and ventilation plant representation in graphical interfaces for user comprehension. Assisting the Trust with the networking requirements for the new BMS, with full training provided. Analyzing the energy performance of BMS across both UHDNFT and other clients using Niagara analytics tools and energy consumption data to target improvements. Training on metering arrangements for heat, gas, and electricity, and data analysis will be provided. Preparing quotations for my clients products and consultancy services, understanding customer requirements, and meeting them effectively with full training on the systems used.
