Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for a fresh challenge? Do you have experience working on new build housing projects? TS Recruitment are actively working with a brilliant housebuilder who is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor to join their Leeds office.
Job Role & Responsibilities:
1. Work as a proactive key member of the Quantity Surveying team.
2. Check and arrange subcontractor payments, obtaining necessary authorisation for passing payments for all elements of subcontractor works.
3. Agree final accounts with subcontractors, ensuring all works have been carried out within budget and analysing costs to assist on future estimates.
4. Assist in keeping the RAMS schedule updated and issued to all relevant parties.
5. Liaise with the Customer Service department on post-completion defects, providing cost advice where necessary.
6. Attend site meetings, project team meetings, subcontractor meetings and surveying meetings as required.
7. Perform any other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager to support the wider teams.
8. Attend project development meetings when appropriate, contract pre-start and subcontract package review meetings.
9. Receive initial tender information and assist in the preparation of the proposed tender lists and updating of subsequent procurement programmes.
10. Prepare documentation and letters including carrying out preliminary checks on subcontractors.
11. Prepare construction cost analysis, which includes analysis of quotations resulting from the tender enquiry, requesting additional and outstanding information as required.
12. Assess site staffing levels and build programmes with the Construction Director to ascertain preliminary costs, including collating all cost information and preparing the start on site budget.
13. Prepare stage payment schedules to assist in the financing of the works.
14. Carry out pre-order meetings including all necessary Health & Safety requirements, finalising a tender sum and agreeing a stage payment schedule for payment purposes before preparing all contract documentation and placing the order.
15. Place subcontractor orders, including interviews and checking references on selected subcontractors. Negotiate the contract sum within the budget, including finalising costs to cover all late variations.
16. Issue variation orders and development changes alongside providing cost advice on major variations prior to issue.
17. Issue revised contract drawings to subcontractors; negotiate the cost of variations including liaising between Buyers and Build Managers.
18. Provide a full range of pricing information for purchaser's extras.
19. Work closely with other departments, including Technical, Finance, Land, Sales, and Production.
In return, you will receive a salary of up to £55,000, plus a car allowance and company benefits which include a competitive pension contribution, private health care and more.
