As a Senior Applied Scientist in our international Machine Learning team, you will spearhead the design and development of advanced generative models (image, video, and 3D) in computer vision that will enhance the shopping experience of our customers. You will partner directly with senior stakeholders to better understand business problems, dissect, design and sometimes build prototypes. You will lead and encourage productive scientific discussions to identify the most effective scientific methodologies.

Key job responsibilities
1. Lead the scientific development of scalable computer vision solutions to revolutionise our catalog's media content.
2. Spearhead data analysis initiatives, extracting actionable insights from Amazon's vast datasets to drive content automation and enhancement.
3. Architect, implement, and optimise cutting-edge generative AI models tailored to our specific business needs.
4. Lead discussions with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic objectives.
5. Pioneer research initiatives that address complex customer challenges and push the boundaries of AI in e-commerce.
6. Mentor and guide junior scientists and interns, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
7. Contribute to the scientific community by publishing groundbreaking research at top-tier CV/ML conferences.
8. Drive technical decision-making and set the direction for building future AI models.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field.
2. 4+ years post PhD relevant industry or academic research experience.
3. Experience programming in Python.
4. Have at least 5 publications on top-tier conferences, such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV or NeurIPS.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in building and debugging large scale machine learning systems that ensure performance and scalability.
2. Experience in mentoring PhD students or managing a team of scientists.
