We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial aspects of project delivery in South Wales. This role involves both site and office work and requires security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Producing budgets, forecasts, and monthly CVRs.
* Managing project income recovery and ensuring prompt payment of invoices.
* Leading the valuation, tendering, and submission of contract variations.
* Performing cost reporting and ensuring accurate contract administration.
Liaising with clients to establish value for money on projects and budgets is essential. You will proactively identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities to the project teams and the wider business. Reviewing contract terms for new projects and ensuring supply chain partners provide the best value for money while adhering to agreed contract terms will be part of your duties.
Maintaining responsive communication with customers and resolving contractual issues and disputes will be key. You will ensure a clear, mutual understanding of the contractual requirements and provide timely commercial reports, including contract variations. Supporting the Commercial Manager in tender analysis and preparing client proposals and recommendations is also expected.
You will develop feasibility proposals by providing robust cost estimates and procurement recommendations. Undertaking cash flow forecasts on project programs, performing risk, value management, and cost control, and advising on procurement strategy are part of the role.
Additionally, you will prepare and analyze costings for tenders, allocate work to subcontractors, and arrange payments. Month-end reporting and financial reconciliation of cost and value will also be required.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have:
* HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of contract law and the NEC suite of contracts.
* Ability to travel between sites as needed.
* Strong analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Experience in negotiating contract terms.
Desirable:
* Membership in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or a willingness to work towards it.
