Job Overview
We have a vacancy for a Departmental Trainer to train new and existing staff in Specimen Reception, Data Entry on the site. The main responsibilities of this post are to organise the training of new and existing staff on the Pathology LIMS system, dealing with send away results and operating the results lines etc under the guidance of the departmental team leaders. Permanent Shift is 14:00 - 20:00. Later Shifts can be considered.

A joint venture with Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Surrey County Hospitals, Royal Berkshire NHS FT and Ashford & St Peters Hospitals.
You should be hard working and enthusiastic with an ability to communicate clearly with patients via telephone calls, visitors and colleagues, and able to work with minimal supervision. You should also be organised and able to retain accuracy and attention to detail under pressure. It is essential that you have previous experience in a Pathology department and have extensive experience of WinPath Enterprise.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
1. To plan and organise own work schedule with the use of appropriate planning aids, demonstrating good time management and ensuring anticipated difficulties in meeting deadlines are promptly reported.
2. Working with the team, to improve working practices, to the benefit of the team and users of the service.
3. To help develop and expand the service in order to respond to increasing demands under the direction of the Pathology Support Services Site Manager.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* RSA 1 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
* O’ level / GCSE standard English and maths
* Basic knowledge of biology & chemistry
* RSA II
Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria
* Excellent customer care
* Good computer skills
* Training /Supervision of staff
* At least one years experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant
Desirable criteria
* Medical Terminology
* Understanding of basic health and safety principles
* Previous laboratory or NHS experience
