Job Title: Head of Safety, Health & EnvironmentSalary: Salary between £50,399 to £53,466 per annum, depending on skills, experience & qualificationsClosing Date: 2025-01-28About the RoleWhat You Will Do Monitor, maintain and periodically review all health and safety policies, processes, safe systems of works and risk assessments. Ensure procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated. Ensure the group meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health & safety at work, including statutory training and reporting. Advise senior management on the implications of current and emerging health & safety legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans. Lead in the development of the group`s health & safety, business continuity and fire safety policies. Monitor, evaluate and review health and safety performance, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required to mitigate risks. Lead in the preparation and presentation as required of health & safety reports to the group health & safety committee, boards, and campus health & safety forums. Manage the Safety, Health & Environment team ensuring consistently high standards of professional practice are displayed and demonstrated. About You A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification or significant demonstrable and extensive vocational experience. Post qualification membership of either : IOSH, NEBOSH, Institute of Fire Engineers H&S Auditing Qualification, such as BSI ISO45001 Auditor or equivalent Substantial experience of managing a Health and Safety area at a similar level Experience in managing a team Understanding of statutory requirements and their application relating to health & safety Sound ability to implement sensible safety controls that are operationally practical Excellent communication, stakeholder management and attention to detail skills Strong decision making and influencing skills BenefitsThere are plenty of benefits available to our staff members, here are just a few: Generous Annual leave entitlement - If you work full time, you\\\'ll get at least 39 days holiday plus bank holidays.
