An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sexual Health Services for an Assistant Health Promotion Officer for Sexual Health and HIV. The post holder will use their initiative and be proactive in developing opportunities for sexual health promotion. Working closely in community settings with colleges, schools, clinics, youth projects, voluntary sector organisations, hard to reach and vulnerable groups. The post holder will be the main contact for all C-Card and CSP outlets and the delivery of training. The post holder will be confident in driving and navigation skills to meet the driving requirements of the job and to transport equipment and resources across Northumberland and North Tyneside.

To promote sexual health and wellbeing to the residents of Northumberland and North Tyneside, in particular those groups who are vulnerable or least likely to access services.

To work flexibly within the team providing support to colleagues.

To ensure standards for young people friendly services ie “You’re Welcome” criteria are evident
To maintain displays in clinical/community areas with reference to the health promotion calendar
To provide a professional telephone service to the public
To ensure service user documentation / demographics are accurate
To complete monitoring and statistical returns in a timely manner
Referring all health and clinical enquires to clinical staff.
Linking public enquires with appropriately to other professionals and services, eg for plan B / emergency contraception, pharmacies, other clinic sessions, Chlamydia screening, C-card.
Deliver C- Card scheme for condom distribution.
Maintaining an orderly office environment.
Word processing
Handling verbal complaints within Trust procedure
To give administration support to audit, evaluation and research projects
