As a Design Lead, you will be working on projects within the Cornwall and North Devon areas on a large South West Water framework. This will involve projects for which the clients provide the design, construction, and commissioning services needed to keep water flowing and wastewater treated. Your role will involve following the process from design through to completion.
Responsibilities:
1. Leading the delivery of multi-disciplinary design for your projects/programme.
2. Developing and leading your team comprised of electrical, mechanical, civil, and process designers.
3. Delivering detailed designs to meet construction needs and client acceptance, including managing cost and programme.
4. Challenging the engineering solutions and delivery effectiveness of your team to ensure we always offer the client the best value solutions.
5. Providing direction and oversight of project controls and ensuring your team understands and complies with quality, programme, and cost requirements.
6. Maintaining positive client relationships at the project level.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE, etc.) or equivalent experience.
3. Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects and knowledge of the Designer or Principal Designer duties under CDM 2015.
4. Strong technical knowledge in own discipline and an appreciation of other disciplines.
5. Able to travel to sites across your operational region.
