The Howard League for Penal Reform is looking for a Senior Campaigns Co-ordinator who will work to develop, co-ordinate and guide the U R Boss project.
U R Boss is an initiative aimed at campaigning for change in policy and practice, based on participation work with children and young people in custody and those released into the community.
The Senior Campaigns Co-ordinator will lead the effort to campaign for change and develop, co-ordinate and guide the project – specifically the young people’s participation, policy communications and training work streams. The role will also involve developing the profile of the charity and this unique service within government, key decision makers, media, and the general public, particularly young people.
The ideal candidate should have three years’ experience of running campaigns and achieving real tangible change, expertise in project and contract management, and the ability to identify risks and issues. A commitment to participation and working with hard-to-reach groups of young people is essential. Significant experience of youth justice policy and practice is desirable, as well as knowledge of the penal system.
