Based in Bromborough, Teledyne CML Composites is a fast-growing manufacturer, supplying carbon/glass fibre composite parts and assemblies to some of the world’s leading aircraft and aero engine producers. Job Purpose:
Working as a Senior member of the Engineering Department, this experienced Manufacturing Engineer will play a pivotal role in the support and growth of the Engineering Department, including managing and supporting the development of Engineering team members.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily management of small Engineering Team, assembly focused.
2. Create and maintain manufacturing instructions, SOP’s, techniques sheets and work instructions for the assembly of composite components to associated specifications and best practices.
3. Identify tooling requirements and manage the design, supply and commissioning of tooling and associated shop floor equipment.
4. Assist with the resolution of day-to-day manufacturing problems/issues.
5. Support lean/improvement projects.
6. Raise and co-ordinate customer/supplier query notes (EQN, WQN, TLQ etc.).
7. Play an integral part of NPI project teams, including reporting of progress to plans.
8. Internal liaison with other manufacturing divisions and departments.
9. Assist with internal and external audits.
10. Customer/Supplier interface on specific projects.
11. Be responsible for the well-being and Health & Safety of fellow workers.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. A minimum of 5 years experience in aerospace manufacturing engineering, particularly with a focus on assembly engineering.
2. Experience of composite materials would be a significant benefit.
3. Experienced in aerospace specifications.
4. Experience of Project Management principles and tools, particularly on NPI applications.
5. Experience of lean manufacturing principles and tools.
6. Experience of successfully deploying problem solving toolsets.
7. Knowledge of CATIA is desirable.
8. Hardworking, enthusiastic, flexible, team player – this role is for an experienced manufacturing assembly engineer, able to take ownership of delivery for assembly elements of both recurring production and NPI inload project.
9. Demonstrable aptitude for organising and problem solving.
10. Comply fully with internal and external Quality Audits.
11. Be responsible for the wellbeing and Health & Safety of fellow workers.
12. Work within the guidelines set out in the Teledyne CML Composites Works Procedure Manual and Quality Procedure Manual.
