Area Manager – Strategic Leadership for Excellence in Service Delivery
Are you a strategic thinker with a commitment to operational excellence and relationship building? Join us as an Area Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and optimizing service quality across our designated Service Delivery Area (SDA) in alignment with VIVO Defence’s objectives and MoD requirements.
As the senior VIVO focal point, you’ll build and maintain successful relationships with key stakeholders, including Heads of Establishments (HoEs) and DIO representatives, ensuring that contract performance, compliance, and resource management meet and exceed expectations. You’ll lead the team to deliver efficient, cost-effective services and meet financial objectives, working closely with Built Estate Managers, Billable Works Managers, and supply chain partners to allocate resources for projects..
Your leadership will drive a culture of safety and compliance, encouraging adherence to health and safety standards, sustainability goals, and statutory requirements across the SDA. You’ll be responsible for managing staff within the organizational structure and fostering a collaborative environment to support continual improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with the BS11000 Collaborative Business Relationships standards.
In this role, you’ll monitor contract performance indicators, oversee project deliverables, and ensure SDA-wide consistency by preparing, approving, and maintaining essential documents such as SDP, ESTS, FASP, and ESR. Your attention to detail will ensure site Facility Maintenance Requests (FMRs) are managed at a high standard to support forward planning. You’ll collaborate on estate forecasting and planning, maintaining commercial control and up-to-date estate data to support the SDA’s operational goals.
What You Need To Do the Job:
To excel, you’ll bring a proven background in estate or facilities management, skilled in driving team performance, managing Safe Systems of Work, and working within profit and loss parameters. You’ll lead with clear, effective direction and instil a team culture rooted in shared responsibility, stakeholder engagement, and innovation.
It would be an advantage if you hold Level 4 or above Facilities Management qualifications, and preferably have experience in overseeing multi site hard FM contracts.
It is important that you have exceptional people management and client relationship management skills, with a proven ability to lead continuous improvement in service delivery.
